Upgrading CPU with concens

My pc right now is a pentium d 925 and a ms7529 mobo. I was hinking if upgrading it wiha core 2 quad q6600. Only thing I'm concerned of is my heatsink. Idk if yhere is a backplate cuz my heatsink has 4 long screws. Any way to find out if I have a back plate. That's the onl thing I'm concerned as of now. Anything, suggestions tips would be appreciated as this is my first time changing a cpu and I really want to learn.
