PSU 24-pin cable stuck on motherboard

Hi, I'm building my gaming PC for the first time. I was using newegg's tutorial and came to the part where I had to do a test run. So I did and now when I wanted to pull of the 24 pin cable, it wouldn't budge. All the hardware I bought are new so I don't want to break anything, spent over a grand on it. I pressed on the latch, tried to wiggle it and pull up but nothing would do the job. What should I do?

As I said this was new so nothing melted. But thank god I got it out, it was a pain in the head. I pressed on the latch, applied some force when pulling it up, wiggled it with force, pull up, then tried to pull it up some more by using a flat head screwdriver, and some how after pulling and wiggling it for 2 minutes I pulled it out.
