simple question .. will i7 950 3.06 GHZ stock clock bottleneck GTX 670 SLI ?

some people even overclock i7 950 for single 680 ... but as i know even at stock clocks you can handle single GTX 680 .... look at that image ... seems like kelper uses CPU less then fermi ... is there any chance to get full potencial of GTX 670 sli with i7 950 on stock clocks ?

You'll be fine.i7 950 is still a decent CPU.

I would have to agree, I also have it in my rig.

wow ! even at stock clocks ? that impressive ^^ since im not OC er it's really good news for me !!! THNX guys ^^ !!

Yes but of course OC'ng it will give you a notable performance boost(in some games especially the RTS ones)

Yes, overclocking or have it auto boost the clock for you works well.

it OC's itself up to 3.3GHZ as i know ^^ idk will it be enough or not .. and some people told me that cpu does not affects much minimum fps what is imoprtant for me .. is that true >?

It's dependent on what's running in the background, if you have other programs open in the background and the resolution you play at.

if i turn off all other programs and run on 1920x1080 ... i don't need other programs while playing games imho ^^

Let's not call that an OC :D  It's the turbo function of the CPU.
And those people were wrong. It affects min FPS but not in all games, either way, you'll be fine

even if kelper don't uses cpu as hard as fermi .. it will have some bottleneck enayway :(  ? heh ... sad ... but how big will be bottleneck ? for exlample if gtx 670 in sli gives me 100 in battlefield 3 .. so cpu bottleneck willl down it to 95 , 90 or even 80 ? how big will be bottleneck or it's hard to say because depents on game optimization ? can we tell rough percentage bottleneck of my cpu for gtx 670 n sli ^^ ?

yeah i saw such a benchmarks ^^ i just don't know what a gpu or combination of gpus can use full potencial of my cpu ... when will be stronger gpu useless ?

i mean .... for example i know for 100% sure that my cpu can handle single gtx 680 :)  and i know 100% sure that my cpu on stock clocks can't handle gtx 690 in quad sli .... so i just want to know what a commbination will use my cpu on 100% ... if gtx 670 in sli is a bit bottleneck.. then performance like ... for example ...

Better then single gtx 680 and less then 670 in sli ....

can you tell me that performance in scores from nvidia site ??

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt...

GTX 680 = 40000 score GTX 690 = 48500 score ... GTX 670 sli = GTX 690

then i need gpu with like 45000 score to use my CPU's full potencial and with no cpu bottleneck ya ? i hope you understand what i said ^^

I don't know why you're asking the same question over and over again while the guys clarified up there.

Your CPU will handle any GPU in the planet, but to get the max FPS in a game you need to Overclock that CPU higher to 3.8 GHz or 4.0 GHz. That will help you get the max playable FPS in a game and will use the full potential power of your GPUs whatever they were.

GTX 670s in SLI = A single GTX 690
When Guru3d tested GTX 690, it tested it with Core I7 965 @ 3.7 and stated that there's no bottleneck with that CPU compared to the $1000 Core i7 3960X

So basically grab the cards you want & OC the CPU higher, higher means a good increase of "MHz"
From 3.06 to 3.3 won't add too much value but from 3.06 to 4GHz will make your CPU a beast.

i know but im not overclocker ^^

you are right ... on 3.7 mhz i can use full potencial of gtx 690 ... on 3.3 not .. then i need something like stronger then gtx 680 and weaker then 690....

gtx 680 has 40k score ... gtx 690 48k on nvidia site here ...

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt...

so i need something aroud 45k score to use full potencial of gpu and not be bottlenecked by cpu ya ??
