My newer desktop, running Windows7, has my modem and router. I've installed a wireless adapter on my older desktop computer (running XP) but it's not making the connection. Yes, to answer the anticipated question, it is close enough (about 30'). I get the message: Aegisinstall mfc application error

re install back the wireless driver of your pc... hope it works...

Have you recently installed any new applications on the system like .net framework?

Also, have you run a good antivirus or malware program lately to see if that may help.

I ask because i did some research on the error and really came up with a few possible causes.
One being a program recently installed like C++ or .Net Framework (or other larger database/development program) gone wrong.

The second being that some malware files may rename themselves as AegisI5.exe and hide in your system32 folder causing problems.

They may not be the issue but running a good antivirus, spyware, and malware program every once in a while surely won't hurt anything either.
