Choosing a power supply

Hello,
I have an ixtreme m5850 and i am getting a nvidia gtx 660 for christmas. I am currently look for a good 500W power supply that will be suitable for my computer. Any suggestions please?

I would probably recommend the XFX Core Edition 550W for you, the extra 50W gives you a bit of headroom for any future upgrades that you choose to carry out.

Do you think i would be able to get anything a bit cheaper than that?

You could get an antec vp-450w or Corsair Builder CX 500w V2, if you want cheaper.

What's your budget for the PSU? Tot sys Power consumption witha GTX660 is 292w.
If you OC or add after market cooling than it'll increase.

BUt, either the Antec & Corsair cx suggested will work. I would only add,
stay with quality brands such as the two already mentioned.

Personally, I would try to always go a step up from the opening price point/budget
series regardless of brand, Generally you get better value (not cheaper) as
the components are better.
