Looking to purchase either a 7850 HD or GTX 570 soon, here are my specs so far:
CPU: Athlon II x3 455 @ 3.93 GHz
Mobo: MSI 870-g45
GPU: 5670 HD
Ramm: GSkill 4 GB
PSU: TX650 (recently upgraded for upcoming new gpu)
Case: Antec 300 Illusion
HDD: WD caviar blue
OS: Windows 7
Currently playing at 1680x1050 and don't plan on upgrading until monitor dies. If it does, will step up to 1080p most likely.
Was wondering at this resolution, will my CPU handle playable framerates (eg. avg fps = 40 - 50)? I play various genres like Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Skyrim, battlefield 3 online and GTA V when it comes out, only problem is I want to play at high settings, I don't care about maxing out. I was thinking about getting an I5-2500k but in that case I need to get a new mobo and might take me awhile so I'm trying to keep upgrades to what's most important. If I can keep my cpu than all the better and just upgrade my CPU later like when Haswell comes out. Right now, I think my GPU is more limiting.
Edit: just as a side note, I am willing to OC the cards but I will not crossfire/sli.
