PSU High Frequency Noise

I have had my computer running smoothly for a month now. However, when i went to play Assassins Creed 3 today i immediately noticed a very high pitch screech coming from the back of my power supply, by the area where you plug in the cable. This noise is very annoying, and i have unplugged and re plugged the power supply an uncounted amount of times. The sound also goes away as soon as the games are minimized. I have a corsair 650tx, a gtx 670 ftw, and a asus p8z77-v mb. I have already submited the request for a RMA, but i have heard people say that it is not always a problem with the power supply itself. I just wanted to know your thoughts and the possible reason/fix for the noise.

(I have also noticed a scratching sound coming from my harddrive around the same time that the power supply started to make noise.)

I have also noticed that if my pc has been on for a long time the sound is no longer present when i start up games.
