Hi,

Please help me build a computer with the following characteristics:

Approximate Purchase Date: this week

Budget Range: 700-850 $ Before Rebates, After Shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: media center + Diablo 3

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com, but it doesn't really matter to me

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Parts Preferences: I prefer Intel CPU, but it's not mandatory

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: have a 55" full HD plasma TV and a 24" dell monitor

Additional Comments: I wish to be able to switch between displaying on the TV and the computer monitor. Also, I prefer that the case will be HTPC case if possible. I want to be able to play Diablo 3 on max settings.

Thanks!

If you are watching a movie on your large television then the noise will not be a problem at all sitting in a large living room on a couch feet away. Sitting in a dark quiet room at 2am playing diablo 3 you would be able to hear it of course. About having your case horizontal: Make sure the case does not have side air intakes if you want it horizontal or it wont get air.

Is there something to do to reduce noise? - I also sometime work on the computer so I don't want it to be too noisy.
(I have no idea how noisy it is, I currently have a pc with onboard video card so I have nothing to compare to).

I've tried different HTPC cases and have settled on using Mid Tower cases as the best solution. This is what my setup looks like and it's quieter then the TV is. http://cache.msm-images.myspacecdn.com/msm300jpg75/images02/153/l_ad9df0bd75d34873b931fbfd0d3cfa14.jpg Sorry the picture is so small but a case like this would work good. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133197 Here is a video of the build. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GC5gi1h2vo&list=UUP_F86gXMLRhAJAUUzPXIig&index=4&feature=plcp
