I see gtx 560 2gb ddr5 and radeon hd 6870 1gb ddr5 have got same price.

In terms of performance for FPS the 6870>560 (non Ti version)

If you get the 560 Ti, it would perform better than the 6870.

Extra VRAM doesn't give any performance boost. I wouldn't say HD 6870 has much better performance - the difference is around 3%:

I'd say you should go with whichever you find cheaper.
