Hey guys. I am having a problem with my internet. The internet keeps shutting off every 20 minuts or so, and eventually reconnects. It started a week ago. I had the cable company come out, and replace my cable modem because I thought the cable modem was the problem, It obviously wasnt the problem. On my local Area Connection status page. By IPv6: It has no network access.
I am using windows 7 ultimate. I have a scientific atlanta webstar modem. And I have a desktop hard wired to a linksys wrt54g2.
Did the cable company check the lines coming into the modem for signal leakage? Also, is the computer directly plugged into the modem? or is there a router in between them? This sounds like an ISP issue.
I have had this problem before and a coaxial splitter was causing my problems. I have a cable box next to my modem and I had the cable split to feed the modem and the cable tv box. The splitter was causing leakage and the ISP tech had to run a second cable plug through my wall from our circuit for the modem itself.
