:hello:, my build:

Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V Pro
CPU: i5 2500k
GPU: shappire hd 7970 3gb crossfire
Storage: 120gb ssd for boot and 500gb hdd
Memory: 8gb DDR 3 1600 Mhz
Cooling: SeaSonic X series Modular 850W 90+
3x monitor set up, each one 1920x1080p

Let me know what you think of this build, would you do something differently ?

2500k is the same as the 3570k when overclocked.
Since, 2500k can be overclocked higher w/o serious heat problems and is cheaper.
I recommend the 2500k.
But if you can afford the 3570k, I'll personally buy it. Since 3570k consumes less power.

I think the PSU is quite overkill?
Overall, nice build. :)

yeah at lower hz s , but still i5 clocks higher.
 


A CM EVO performs no where near as good as water cooling... Unless its something like an H50

I have seen Overclocks using the CM evo to get 4.5ghz on the 3570k
 


Yeah but what were the temps, was it just a suicide run, etc. You get far better temps with water cooling if you do it right.

true true, Im using water cooling now. i had tried using my evo couple times trying to OC. (failed of course cuz couple months ago i knew nothing about oc)

I have a 3770K at 4.3 on a push pull evo. No temp problems at all. But the temp bug on ivy is over 4.2-4.3 ish. From there the temp's skyrocket. But for 24/7 4.3Ghz is more than enough.
