First of all, I should say that I got myself what looks like a bargain on eBay, as I bought a Sapphire HD4870 512mb for £8.
The auctioneer said that the card had 2 blown capacitors, and it no longer worked, and true to that statement, the card arrived in great condition with 2 capacitors missing. I have ordered the capacitors, in the hope that I will be able to repair the card by replacing the capacitors. So that's one thing I've never done before; I've never tried to replace anything at board level before, especially on a graphics card. So, are there any tips people can give me on that? And does anyone think that it will fix it?
Also, I've been trying to find information on it, but I'm not having much luck. I have a pair of monitors, and I would like to use Eyefinity, and have both monitors up, but I've no idea whether the card supports more than one monitor.
