Sup guys just a quick question. If you had to pick between these two, which would you say is better? The first one is my current processor + my graphics card while the second one is the one im currently looking to buy.

1.) Intel Core i3 CPU 550@3.20ghz
amd radeon 5750

OR

2.) AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7660D AD580KWOHJBOX

Your CPU is kinda out of date so the "bad bulldozer reviews" are incorrect for yours as that APU should beat your CPU by a good percentage. Your framerate is most likely to not get any better with a new GPU while the CPU would be lower frame rates, if you get another card to run dual graphics it could go a long way.

You can't get better with either of them, can you tell me which MOBO your planning on using and is your PSU enough?

The APU isn't Bulldozer based friend, it's Piledriver, but I think his CPU is good because it has hyper threading & it's pretty solid on its own, it doesn't need overclocking + he at least has PCI-e 3.0

I know that, but most reviews are on the bulldozer ones which piledriver only has about %7 IPC change on it so finding which one is faster is easier.

Well that and don't forget the windows hotfixes.

I think the performance boost was higher than that. But personally, I think he should still with his i3 -still good for what it is, he could put money to a much better video card than the IGP in the A10-5800K, plus lower TDP

The perfomance boost was %15 percent it's the clock speeds which was half of that.
The second gen i3 was very comparable to the first gen i5.

Well, although it uses more power a nice APU could do the trick like the one he had a link to. Later on he can use dual graphics
which will allow nice and smooth gameplay.

Either keep what you have now and upgrade your gfx card, or get the APU system/motherboard and upgrade to a discrete card when money is available. I just built a HTPC with the A10-5800K and it performed decent with its on-die GPU. BF3 @ 1366x768 (720p) had good frame rates at medium settings. With a discrete card, it will do much better.

Having said that, there are better choices available for the money than those two.
