I have it and I love it.
I ordered my hard drives from these guys, no problems.

Oh BTW, I got mine OEM local for $133 about two months ago, so $90+shipping for the retail version is a good deal.

well now that link doesnt seem to work right and if you find the Teac 12x10x32 its $147 with not much information...

first the mobo is sold out, now the processor is sold out, and now the cdrw costs almost twice what it did last night...

I have the Teac 8x8x32 and it works good. Got it at CompUSA for $50 after rebates.

U could try the Lite-On 16X/10X/40X, I've just gotten it and it's working pretty well. Its not too loud too, which is a bonus. ;)

Hmm...shows it as $0. That's a really good deal :)

Looks like they took it off their listing, possibly because they're out of stock?

<A HREF="http://www.cdrexpress.com/cgi-bin/webcart/webcart.cgi?DISPAGE=2&CONFIG=mountain&RET=25&LOGIC=1&START=26&DOSEARCH=YES&FIRST_TIME=No&RCATS=CD+Recorders&OCATS=&FOUND=57&TOPPAGE=&CODE=267" target="_new">CdrExpress</A> has some really good prices. A 16/10/40 is only $116. That's OEM, but with EZCDCreator. The retail version is $127, pure OEM $109. All out of stock, though.

The OEM 12/10/32 is $85, retail $98.
Yamaha 16/10/40 is $101 OEM, $130 "Deluxe OEM?", $148 retail.

Haven't dealt with these guys, but they seem ok. Check <A HREF="http://www.resellerratings.com" target="_new">here</A>.

I did just what you suggest.

Sony's latest ATAPI CD-RW offering is a mixed bag. When compared to the competition, it lags at reading CDs, in digital audio extraction, and writing to CD-RWs, but our tests show it to be one of the fastest 12X CD-R writers around.
Sony's CRX160E warrants consideration to those primarily interested in CD-R writing, strictly because of its outstanding CD-R write speeds. However, with the competition offering superior CD read and CD-RW writing performance, faster digital audio extraction, a better software package, as well as buffer underrun protection at a similar price point, its difficult to recommend this drive over units such as the Plextor 12/10/32A.

They also say it's quiet and cool running.
