I think my HD 7850 is going to explode.

A screech emanates from my computer when I'm in any game, the higher the FPS, the louder and higher the pitch. This has been happening since I got my HD 7850, and is particularly bad in game menus.

This is the aftermarket Sapphire model. The temps on the GPU are fine when this happens. Also, manually setting the fan speed while not playing any games sound completely normal, so it's not the fans.

Here's an example with The Witcher 2 menu that pushes 2000+ FPS.

What the hell is making the noise, and how can I stop it?

Auto-fan = 53% - Tribes: Ascend in game

Maybe capacitor(s), but then it might actually make sort of explosion. It did make noise like gun shot when I have once exploded one in my power supply. Try to disconnect computer from power - all wires, not just switch off - for longer few hours time. And after that check if sound is there or not.
