HD 6870 or HD 7850

I am building my first PC for work and gaming. I'm not a huge gamer, but would like the ability to play recent games (BF3, Crysis 2, D3, etc.) at high settings. The highest resolution my monitor is capable of displaying is 1920x1080p. Is it worth it for me go for the 7850, or should I save some money and get a 6870? I'm trying to stay under budget, and the extra 110 dollars seems like a lot extra to pay for something that I might not even use the full potential of. My processor is i5-3540, btw.

  1. There is no question that the HD7850 is the better card. The HD6870 is a very capable card even at 1080P so you have to decide is saving $110 and get a card that has about 80% of the performance of the HD7850 worth it! http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/HD_7850_Power_Edition/28.html
    $110 will buy you a 120GB SSD! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226236
