No internet but Wireless is connected

First question is usually the same:
Does the wireless router have security enabled, and if it does did you put all of the security information into the network settings of the computer you want to access it.

Other than that, may need a bit more detailed description of the problem.

Hi, newbie to the forum here.

Keep in mind that there are 2 connections that you're dealing with, a network connection and an internet connection. If others on the network are also connected to the internet then the trouble is not with the router, it's internal. Others can perhaps tell you if there's a better way, but sometimes all you have to do is re-boot and bing, you'll connect. If that doesn't work, sometimes renewing your IP address works (Start>Run>Cmd>ipconfig /renew). Make sure to leave a spoace between ipconfig and the forward slash/.

Unless your adapter's shot those should work. I use a handy little tool called Network Magic that enales me to manage all of our computers on our network.

Edit: By the way, I have had 2 network adapters quit on me in my computer lifetime (about 20 years) so they do fail. Since the 2nd time I ALWAYS have a backup on hand...especially when I travel. For not too much money you can get an external USB network adapter to use as a backup. In fact, I'm currently using that one instead as it speedtests faster than my internal one (Atheros AR9285). The 9285 seems flaky to me.
