Displayport Adapter problem

OK so i run three monitors on a radeon 5870 graphics card. i use two DVI adapters to run 2 monitors and the third is off an active display port adapter. My problem is my computer doesnt seem to remember the adapter or even recognise it as everytime i turn on my computer i have to remove the adapter and then put it back in. Does anyone have any ideas to stop this as this gets annoying having to move my computer all the time to just get my monitor working.

Do you mean, from your 5870's DVI ports, you use DVI adaptors to the monitor? Does it mean your monitors do not have DVI ports? What's the input ports for the monitors? Better still, what's the exact model of your 5870 and the monitors?
