Hello!
I've been a lurker of the Tom's forums for a long time and decided to finally make an account to post on the forums because I have some questions.
I'm a PC gamer and feel like I am in need of an all-around upgrade, however, I would like some advice/opinions on how much of a boost I will see and benefit from with the new build I have in mind. Also, is this very cost-effective right now?
Current rig:
Core 2 Duo E7300 OC'd to 3.2GHZ, GTX 460 768MB, Asus p5QL Pro mobo, 4GB DDR2, 7200 HDD.
Prospective build:
i5 3570K, GTX 460 (keeping same card), Asus p8z77 LK, 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance, OCZ Vertex 3 120GB
My new build, plus antec eleven hundred case and cooler are coming in at about $688 (tax included). When it comes to technology, I know this is not expensive at all, however, as a student with a lot of debt to pay off, I gotta make every penny count
Games I play are DayZ (so Arma 2 and prob Arma 3 when it launches), and Guild Wars 2. Also, I would like to be prepared for games that launch in the near future.
