Hi all,

I've been experiencing this annoying issue of non-optimal resolution. Every time I boot/reboot, my screen resolution will be in 1920x1200 for several seconds at login screen before automatically change to 1920x1080. I have to manually change it back to 1920x1200 which is native for my dell 2408. Any way this can be fixed? Thank you!

Setup: Gigabyte HD6950 1GB OC version, win 7 pro 64bit, and latest driver from AMD website.

What cable are you using? HDMI supports the 1200P resolution, if you're using DVI Single link cable it will revert back to 1080P, yopu have to use DVI Dual Link Cable
Make sure your cables matches the DVI-I Dual Link or DVI-D Dual Link

Thanks! Yeah I got a single link unfortunately...but what I don't understand is that the same problem happens even if I use DP to connect my monitor. Any comments on that?

your problems shouldn't be from the dvi cable. Single-link dvi supports upto 2.75 megapixels @ 60hz. 1920x1200 is 2.3 megapixels, so its probably something else (supported by the fact that it does that with DP too). DP supports 2560x1600+.

In CCC go to Desktop Mgt>>Desktop Properties and choose 1920 x 1200
Apply and then restart see what happens

Does sound like a software/os issue. You said it starts at 1920x1200 at login screen? does it revert back to 1080p after you login or just automatically after a couple seconds of sitting there uninterrupted?
