Sorry for the weird title, but I have the following problem:

My headset only works with the audio jacks on the front panel of my pc, whereas my speaker system works with both the jacks in front and in the back.
I've opened up my computer case and made sure there weren't any loose connections. This doesn't really make any sense to me and I don't see how this problem even is possible.

My pc uses Realtek audio.

Any help is appreciated.

If your using windows 7 the front ports are set different than the back audio ports.
To get the headphones working in the front ports. you have to go into the windows audio panel. and select the back audio ports as default device.
And the front audio ports as default comunication device for a headset and Microphone. You should then have audio to your speakers and the headset and mic will work in the front ports. If you want to switch just change the back default device to communication device.
