Cheap headphone amp

Not sure if this is the right section for this question but I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap headphone amp for my PC.The headphones I'm using are the Sennheiser HD 280 PRO.The motherboard I have is the MSI Z68-GD65(G3).I've seen something like the FiiO E5 Headphone Amplifier, which is great for the price but I'm looking for something less portable.

  1. Hi :)

Umm why not a sound card ?

    All the best Brett :)
  2. Well I didn't know if they had headphone amps or not. Also I am limited to a PCI-E 1x slot.
  3. Is their something less portable and possibly less costly?
  4. Less portable and less costly?

Not sure what else there is, there are sound cards, they aren't usually portable.

Headphone amps have to be portable as people carry them when they are travelling,
  5. Well, Fiio has some really good items:

I've heard good things; never used one personally though.
  6. Does that Asus Xonar have a headphone amp just like the Fiio?

Btw my headphones are only 64ohms.So it's not like I need a beastly amp.I would prefer a sound card but I'm not sure how to tell which is best for me.
  7. Alright I think imma go with the ASUS Xonar DGX.It has a headphone amp that goes up to 150ohms.Is their anything else I need?
