What's up wih my CPU?

On my Acer Aspire 5755G It is advertised to have an i7 2630QM 2.0GHz proccessor with turbo boost to 2.9GHz. But when running Prime95 it only goes to around 1.6GHZ and gets crazy temps (85-100).

Have a look at your settings in BIOS? press delete (your pc may be a different key) on start up to enter BIOS.
You may need a new CPU cooler to keep the temps down, and also may need to activate the OC in BIOS.

Sorry I should of mentioned it is a laptop.

It's overheating! That's the reason why you are getting 1.6GHZ, is because the CPU is throttling to prevent damage.
