560 beats a 580 on WEI?

Hey guys,

A couple of my friends just bought PC's and we were all set up at my house. For a laugh we decided to all run a Windows Experience Index test and the results were strange...

My friends 560ti (7.6) beats my 580 (6.0) ... WTF?

Well after receiving much piss-taking, I thought Id ask you lot why you think this was? Expecially seeing as before I ran the WEI it had it down as 7.8.

My specs are superior to his in almost every way (he has a stock i5 3450, compared to my i5 2500k @ 4.6 ghz for example)

Note: I realise WEI doesnt mean ***, but its still annoying! haha

Cheers,

More about : 560 beats 580 wei

Like you said it doesn't mean ****, Sometimes this happen as a bug in the WIN due to a pirated copy, and sometimes the nVidia drivers or AMD ones crash on a particular test so it allows WEI to give this score, you could have run 3D Mark all so that you could laugh at them

WEI is fun for shits and giggles, but isn't worth stressing out over. I've reinstalled my OS several times in the last year, mostly from trying out Win8. Using the same disc and same drivers (I keep a "fresh install files" folder around) I get different results for the same hardware each time.

I've had my HD 6950 get anywhere from a 6.8 to 7.9. WEI is WEIrd.

try fix it utilities or CCleaner, I had a similar problem my gtx 670 had a score of 4.2 lol.

I fixed it with Fix it utilities,re-ran the assessment and it worked!

I got a 7.9 after I re-ran it

We need a thread for goofy WEI scores. Would be a great laugh. I'm sure some poor guy out there has a GTX 690 that got a 5.2 or something, lol.

I have dual Radeon HD 6870's in Xfire and my WEI is always 7.8 regardless of whether the second card is inserted or not. Actually, it was 7.7 when I first installed one 6870. Then it went up to 7.8 after OC'ing and it hasn't changed since despite haveing a seond one inserted and disabling any OC. My conclusion was exactly what everyone else is saying, WEI is meaningless. However, when I ran 3Dmark 11, two cards most definitely beat one by almost a factor of two.

7.6 CPU, 7.9 RAM

funny thing with CPU is that stock i5 2500k got me a 7.5, overclocking it to 4.6ghz got me to 7.6... then again, my 7970 has scored 7.9 on stock and 7.8 after OCing it to 1100mhz...
