5 beeps on my Pc at start up

please assist me. My Pc has 5 beeps on start up. How can it be resolved and what may be the problem?

5 short beeps is a processor error - the CPU has failed. I assume the computer won't start up?

That probably means the CPU is either dead or it's not in the socket correctly - you could first try removing the CPU (check none of the pins are bent, if a pin is bent it can be gently eased back into place with a credit card or piece of flat plastic) and refitting it (if you're good with these sorts of things) - make sure you apply fresh thermal paste to the heatsink - but otherwise you may need to replace the CPU altogether, which is likely to be expensive. If it's an old computer and the processor is fried this may be a good time to upgrade.
