I'm looking to buy the Alienware AM14X-6667BK,but I don't know much about computers.
If it can't can you tell me what laptops will play Skyrim on ultra?

@ 14" pretty much any gaming laptop can do it.

My friend has this laptop. I don't think it would run it on ultra settings. However, it is quite a capable machine for its form factor so I think Skyrim would still run pretty well on it with somewhat scaled-down settings.

Is there a way to upgrade the laptop so it could play it on ultra?

for skyrim you would need a laptop with a desktop cpu in it to max the game. you need high sandy bridge clocks to max it. aka 3.8-4.0

pcpartpicker doesn't sell the PCs, it's just a tool where it finds the cheapest prices around the US and tells you were you can buy specific part for least money.

So yea, if you buy all the parts from different vendors, you'll have to build it yourself. However, don't be scared! It's actually way easier than it looks like from the first time.
