GTX 680 Underperforming?

hi everyone i think my gtx 680 is underperforming alot in game like DiRt Showdown and Just Cause 2

My Computer Specs

CASE - Antec Two Hundred V2 ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case
MotherBoard - ASRock Z68 EXTREME3 GEN3 Intel Socket LGA1155
Processor - Intel i5 2500k LGA1155 @ 3.3Ghz ( Turbo Boost @ 3.7Ghz)
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB(2x4GB) DDR3 - PC12800/1600MHz
Graphics Card - ASUS Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 2GB GDDR5 (Reference)
Power Supply - OCZ Fatal1ty 750W Power Supply - Crossfire & SLI Ready
Optical Drive - Sony SATA Internal DVD Burner 24x
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 200Gb SATA I hdd (will upgrade to a 2tb sata III soon)
CPU Cooler - Stock
Extra Case Fans - 3x Cooler Master 120mm Silent Fan 90CFM, Red LED
Monitor - ASUS VK266H 26" 1920x1200, 2ms Monitor With Webcam

Just Cause 2 Benchmarks (Max-Medium Shadows + 16x CSAA)

Dark Tower
Average Fps - 70.01

Desert Sunrise
Average Fps - 82.33

Concrete Jungle
Average Fps - 50.24

and also in game i get massive dips really often into the 30's when this card shouldnt drop below 60.
so shouldnt i able to turn everything to max, like high shadows and 32x csaa and enable vsync (with tripple buff) in nvidia cp

DiRT Showdown Benchmark (Max Settings - no ingame AA + FXAA)

Average Fps - 67.46
Min Fps - 51.14

with 8xqcsaa its like in the 40's.

Having vsync on will cap your frame rates and will match it to your monitor's refresh rate. Although very helpful in preventing screen tearing and keeping gameplay smooth.

Then I misread that. Because you mentioned about enabling vsync. Do you have anything else running in the background other than your games such as web browser with a video in it, video editing software, and etc.

Exactly fraps is notorious for lowering fps considerably. Look at how many forum posts there are complaining about fraps. If you want something to show your framerate use something like Evga Precision or MSI afterburner to show an overlay of FPS without slowing your game down.

its only happening with these 2 games so far other games i have tested are f1 2011, skyrim

F1 2011 Benchmark (Max Settings - 8XQ CSAA)

Average Fps - 92
Min Fps - 80

Skyrim Benchmark (Ultra 8AA + FXAA)(Whiterun Walkthrough)
Avg: 92 - Min: 54 - Max: 154
