I hate to make a post about this, since I have been doing my own research into the matter, but I figured some input would be helpful. I am planning to build a small compact PC meant to be mobile so I can carry it around and also keep it at a friends. I am on summer break from school and funding this project from my summer job. Only reason I am explaining this useless background information is that I would like to get this build together before the summer ends so I can maybe enjoy it before I head back to school.

I want to get a video card on the level of a 560 Ti or 7850, so I have a $200 - $250 budget. Taking into account the fact that I want to build it soon, it really makes me feel like I am shafting myself. Since the GTX 660 will come out sometime in August or September (so I hear), it makes me feel like any video card I buy will be a huge waste of money.

Anyone have any input or advice on what would be the best card to get in this price range at the moment? I always choose the worst times to want to upgrade or build a PC.

Well from just taking a quick look, it could be between these two cards:

560 Ti ($209.99 after rebate):

7850 ( I would probably sell that game for $20 lol so $240 possibly?) :

The 7850 could cost an extra $30 to $50 more, anyone think that is worth it?
Paying an extra $30 for 7850 is well worth it i do it the small step up in spending yields significantly better performance. ;)
