my brother is looking to upgrade his computer, hes really into gaming diablo 3
world of warcraft ect

and also to convert and render films

this is his setup justnow

graphics
radeon hd4350

motherboard
asrock klon78m

cpu
amd anthlon 2 x2 250

memory

4gb ram

all suggestions would be welcome, he also needs it to have a hdmi socket

The graphics card would be the best thing to upgrade. What is the wattage of your power supply?

Open the side of the computer and look for the max wattage on the power supply. Then you can decide on a graphics card based on the wattage.

You can upgrade to the HD6770 with that psu.

That usually has to do with the processor. What is its clock speed?

Converting videos and rendering need a very powerful cpu to do quickly such as the i72600k. So you would need to upgrade the cpu.

Not with your amd mobo. The mobo spec page i have linked states "Support for Socket AM3 processors: AMD Phenom™ II X4 / X3 and Athlon II X4 / X3 / X2 processors". Those are your possible choices.

If he is on a budget the HD6670 or the HD6770 would improve the game performance drastically over your current the HD4350.
I suggest sticking to just upgrading the graphics card.

2gb video memory will not affect the 4gb of ram he has. You won't see much of a performance difference between the 1gb and 2gb versions of this card. The real difference is the memory speed. Look for a DDR5 version of this card.
