DVI-D to VGA??

I think I asked this before, but what is the point of a DVI-D to VGA (male to female) respectively ) converter? And is it ever possible to get an ANALOG VGA monitor working with a DVI-D. Output?

I need a second adapter? Where do I put it? Btw(DVI - D. Has no analog pins) how is dvi-D to VGA possible?

If you wish to connect an alaog VGA monitor to a DVI-D video source you will need an active converter that does digital to analog conversion. The cheap adapter out there will not work because they don't do digital to analog signal conversion. You can check KVMSwitchTech's DVI-D to VGA converter unit (Part # SCA-DVI-ANA).
