How do I explain to parents who dont know anything about PC's this?

I want to explain to them that building a PC is better than buying one? They think i'll mess it up. 1 thing I thought of was saying the PC's in the BestBuys are something you can make for (I don't know, need somebody to tell me).

Well if you can take apart your current computer you have now and show then you can put it back together. Maybe they will change their mind?

Just show them the pre built PC online and then research the parts that are in it, Show them the 2 prices, on average when I do that there is around £100 at least difference more on expensive ones

Explain that its a ton cheaper and you can build a rig that is much more suited for your needs.

If you really want to show an extreme price difference, look at the Mac Pro configuration page, where they will sell you a 2GB stick of 1333Mhz RAM for $75 (I wish I was kidding).
