Best graphics card to run Diablo 3 in?

I'm looking to play at a 1920x1080 Resolution at max settings.

What would the best ATI card be to reach this?

Budget: $100~150

  1. I don't know what $150 is in NZ dollars... If you can, try to stretch to a 7850, otherwise go for a 7770, but I don't think that a 7770 would max Diablo, it'd be a little off the mark. WHy specifically AMD card?

    $110 and 300w+ PSU
    AMD 7750

    $150 and 450w+ PSU
    AMD 6850

Would the 6850 be the better choice?
  3. From looking at the one from Tom's hardware it says the 6770 is better BUT that site says different.

Which one is the better from the three?

    6770 vs 6850 vs 6870?

Hmm it seems to be a bit too much for me.

Do you think the Radeon HD 6770 would be enough if the only game I plan on playing is Diablo 3?
    Max settings, 1920x1080 Resolution etc.

not sure to be honest i know the 6850 will if that helps any

it will be fine. you won't get constant 60FPS but you will be well above 30 and that is what matters in a RPG.

you also need a decent dual core CPU or better

    I'm looking for a constant 60FPS
Would a 6850 be good enough?

Just found this Yes it will http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/diablo-iii-performance-benchmark,3195-5.html :D

if you have a PSU to power it and a fairly modern CPU, then yes.

    I have a 620 Watt Seasonic M12 II and a AMD Athlon II X4 645 Quad Core 3.1Ghz cpu.
Will that be good enough with the 6850 or should I pay the extra and get the 6870?
  10. my 6850 can get 60 frames on highest settings no sweat overclocked to 945 though

something is wrong there. both techspot and toms' have identical figures for the AMD 6850 in 1050p. Tom's has the 6770 running better then the 6850 in every test but 1600p. the 6850 should have better numbers then the 6770, techspot is more inline with what you expect.
hmmmmm i didn't notice that good eye actually agree seems highly unlikely i don't see how it possible a 6770 could run better then the 6850 period :??:

Think it's a typo or what kinda a big typo if so  i don't know but i agree it's wrong
  13. I'm still quite confused.

Should I go with the 6850 or pay a bit more and just go with the 6870?
*The only game Ima be playing is Diablo 3.

not sure about that cpu helping you get the best performance with a 6870.
yes, i know this is skyrum but i did pick the bench because it is rather cpu intense to show a worse case senario:

and that is with a AMD Radeon HD 7970 you may want to consider the 6850 even though that is a most excellent PSU to run ANY graphics card. but also be aware you WILL get better frame rates playing D3. like i said skyrim is more cpu intense . . like for BF3 it doesn't matter, more GPU intense . .

    now i am confused . . :p

6870 would be better if you can't afford it a 6850 will be good enough for max settings in D3 ;)

Okay.. those screenshots confuse the *** out of me.. but let me get this straight.
My comp would work better with a 6850 rather than a 6870?
Also, is it 6770 > 6850 or the other way around? Each website has a different opinion. o.o

Just grab yourself an HD 6770 for $130 and be done with it.

Maxed out in 1080p 50fps is plenty for an ARPG dungeon crawler.

What you should be shooting for is low latency. D3 is laggy...

yeah, i know. sorry about that.
here i'll put it this way: if you are going to play a CPU intense game like skyrim that 645 will get crushed!

BUT since you playing D3 which is not cpu intense, like BF3 single player, have at the 6870!
  20. Get an HD 6850.

    Here is a better chart showing 1920 x 1200.

    Your CPU shouldn't matter much.

  21. I think I'm going to go with the 6770 simply because the price is right and the XFX one seems to have a nice rating.
Will I see a major upgrade if I just go with the 6850 instead of the 6770?
  22. Probably not.
  23. Alright guys thank you very much for your opinions.
I was gonna go with the 6770 at first but it seems the 6850 is better?

Now, what brand is recommended for the ATI Radeon HD 6850 and how many 6 pin connectors are required as my psu only has 1.

OR, should I just go with the 6770? I'm really diggin' the XFX Radeon HD 6770 as it's only $118 and is top rated.

    what happened to the 6+2?

    PCI-Express Connector 1 x 6-Pin, 1 x 6+2-Pin

Woops! Forgot about that one, I still have it. lol
  26. if you like the 6770 get it, if you might wanna think about a 6850:
    ASUS Radeon HD 6850 DirectCU 790MHZ 1GB $154.99
    After Mail In Rebate: $134.99
DCU cards are usually very good
    a review:
ASUS Radeon HD 6850 Direct CU 1 GB

it is $36 more before rebate, close call on whether or not it is worth it . .

I'm going to be getting a 6850, decided to go with that, just don't know exactly which brand/product.
Is that ASUS one you linked me available on amazon?
  28. YES!

it didn't show up in pcpartpicker . .:p

So it would be a good choice?

I had it narrowed down to that ASUS one, the HIS one, and the Sapphire one.
Which one from the 3 would be the best? :kaola:
  30. the asus runs a little better being factory overclocked. and i believe asus has good customer support.

Would it be able to run on my power supply? I can't find the power connector requirements anywhere.
  32. it does use 1 six pin; your PSU can handle it no worries!
