I recently upgraded my desktop. My current config is -

CPU - AMD X4 II 955
mobo - Asus M5A78L
RAM - 4GB DDR3
Graphics Card - XFX R7770
PSU - 500W

I am not overclocking or anything.

Now the problem is the screen goes black, and stays black after the Win7 logo (i.e. I am getting the boot screen too). It apparently happens randomly. I restart a few times, and then everything is normal. I think its a driver related problem, but not sure. Downloaded the latest catalyst driver. Should I just install it right away, or uninstall the previous driver just to be safe? Or do I even have to perform a clean Win7 installation?

Also it might be a problem with disabling the on-board GPU. In BIOS I have this 4 chipset related options -

GFX0-GPP-IGFX-PCI

GPP-GFX0-IGFX-PCI

PCI-GFXO-GPP-IGFX

IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI

Not sure what they are, but the default value is GFX0-GPP-IGFX-PCI

I selected PCI-GFXO-GPP-IGFX and am getting display now. Is this the right option?

Plz help guys. Thanx in advance!!
