Have you checked here:
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center\Problem Reports
to see if microsoft has an explanation for whats happening?

i'd first update...
update all the hotfixes, drivers (especially video card), firmware, and see if there is a BIOS update (apparently some motherboards work betting w/ Win7 with an updated BIOS)

If that doesn't work, start in safe mode.
If it still crashes, its an OS problem. try repairing

If it doesn't, then you have a faulty driver, or a program causing it.
I had a program called Folding@Home cause my video card driver to crash and thus BSOD Windows. Try turning off all the programs on startup. (type 'msconfig' into the start menu and hit enter. Go to the startup tab and click 'disable all'. Restart your PC and see if this solves your issue
