Hi there

Every once in a while my monitor will go into Power Saving Mode and my PC will stop responding due to this. This can happen at anytime from a few hours to a few minutes of the PC being on.

Specs are:

PSU: Corsair VX550w
MOBO: Biostar GF8100 M2+ SE
RAM: 2x2GB DDR2
CPU: AMD 630 2.8GHz x 4
HDD: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint 7200rpm

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Not knowing you OS, I would say you need to check all the power saving option and go into the bios to check also. Many Bios offer a power saver setting. I would guess there is a setting to put the monitor or system to standby or sleep after some set period of inactivity.

Oh sorry my OS is Windows 7 64 Ultimate. This computer isn't exactly new so I don't see why it would suddenly start behaving like this. The only change recently is that I had a hard drive fail and have been using a new one with a new copy of windows, but the power options are ok as far as I know. Also the computer isn't inactive when power saving mode turns on.
