Taskbar*Word/Excel etc

When a file is opened the taskbar reads "Microsoft Word/file name." How do I
eliminate the "Microsoft Word" & only show the file name?

You need program to do this very stupid thing. As MS guidelines put the filename first, but Word doesn't, what does that indicate to you? That it's there for a reason. Other programs depend on Word titlebar text starting with the words Microsoft Word.
