Hello, i decided to upgrade my system but i need ideas since i can't decide what to get for my system.

What i want to do is upgrade following parts;
-Rams to 8 GB (Will buy probably same Rams x2) - Costs around 40$
-GPU change(and maybe CPU aswell)(I am torn between adding another 6790, getting a 6970 or 7970)
-HDD change(1-2 TB Sata 3 since SSDs are expensive)(I have no idea what to get at this point)
-Case change(to tower)(I am thinking about Cooler Master RC-942-KKN1 HAF X)
-Change fans of my new case and CPU(My PC makes a lot of noise atm)(I don't understand fans at all...)

System will be used for gaming/designing. I have got 1100$ budget and can buy new parts between 1 week to 2 months. Due to my country part prices changes between 0 to 100$ more(Like a 100$ part can be 200$). Sometimes less at that amount so i have to check them out.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
Processor : Phenom II x4 965 3.4 Ghz
Ram : Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR3 1600MHz KHX1600C9AD3/2G x2 (4GB RAM at total)
GPU : Sapphire 6790
HDD : Seagate st3160827as (almost 7 year old HDD)
Case : Medium Tower (same age with HDD)
Power Supply: Cooler Master GX-650W

I will appreciate any help. ^^

p.s. System is almost a year old.

where dya live? which site will you be purchasing from?how much are you thinking of spending for your upgraded parts(in total)?

now for the advice's:
1| get a new kit of ram preferably 2x4GB kit or 4x4GB kit - since you mentioned designing, you'll benefit form extra ram. Ps will need HDD space for scratch disk.
2| wow, 7 year old HDD, i think its time you retired it - or maybe reduce its duty by backing up all its/your valuable content.

post back with the answers :)

I live in Turkey and i have no idea where i am going to buy parts from since prices varie at each site/store here(while radeon 7970 can be too cheap 6850 can be way too expensive). I got 1100$/2000TL(TRY). I plan to spend around 700-800$ if i won't buy radeon 7970 which should be enough i guess...

1| I plan to get another same pair of rams i own now, which will increase my ram size to 8 GB(i think 16 gb is a bit over kill :p ).
2| Yeah, my HDD at least still works and can run smoothly but it is stoping performance of my current PC. I already backed up all of my content and do once a week since my HDD can fail any time.

if you can then its great that you can find the exact same kit. but beware even though one kit may look the same as the other, please try to match their numbers up. Usually when they manufacture rams, they are binned accordingly. So your dimms may be of one bin sorting while the kit that you can find will be of another bin sorting. This will cause in varying timings(minute but affects Oc'ing). Thus getting a fresh kit to work with.

16GB isn't overkill, it'll help you out when you'll be working on adobe CS family of designing software's. Autodesk and Corel included.

I know more ram will help but i am not doing designs which wants that much ram. That's why i am thinking it is over kill.
And i will be carefull with ram models since i once made a mistake like that. :p

I decided to buy Cooler Master RC-942-KKN1 HAF X as a computer case and Seagate 3,5" 2TB Barracuda(Sata 3) as a HDD. I will swap my radeon 6790 with a 6970 but now i need help with fans and will i need a better power supply(I have got a 650 Watt PSU)? My CPU's fan makes noise like a jet. I don't want it to happen with new case i am going to get and i don't even understand fans since non of my PC's made that much noise.

So after my final decisions my PC will include(except fan);
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
Processor : Phenom II x4 965 3.4 Ghz
Ram : Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR3 1600MHz x4 (8GB RAM at total)
GPU : Sapphire Radeon 6970
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 2TB Sata3 7200 RPM
Case : Cooler Master RC-942-KKN1 HAF X
Power Supply: Cooler Master GX-650W

Can you please review this system and tell me if i need a better PSU? From what i see a 650W PSU should be able to handle that system...

can you get the corsair AP120's? well the issue with your parts and where I live Is maybe I can prescribe a part on newegg.com but it might not be available in your country. Trust me, I know cos I id this with another one of your country men a year ago.

maybe if i had a site to refer to for your purchases - then I could give you an idea.

* oh well - try to find a psu with some extra breathing room wattage. So you can Overclock down the road. Make sure to get at least a 80+rated psu. 80+gold are the best units available. Don't bother with platinum units.

sell those kingston rams and get a fresh pair of 8GB(2x4GB) kit.

** just noticed, get a 750W gold rated psu for your entire rig. Will help you do crossfire on that 890chipped board.

case: I'd decide on something else other than a HAF-X it isn't that good int he airflow dept.

sadly no, i can't get corsair AP120's.

i can use this site: http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com Sadly, it is in turkish but uses $...(my budget is 1100$)

*My current PSU is GX 650W 80+ gold. I bought it because it was cheap. And I don't like to Overclock my PC, i use everything at stock.

should i get another pair of hyperX genesis rams(they will be 2x4 GB) or do you know better ones with same price?

** Can you please find a good one from the site i sent?

case: I kinda have no idea with cases aswell. I did read review of HAF-X and people were happy with it, so i went with it. If you have something better in mind please tell me :)

p.s. I will get HYPER 212 for my CPU from another site, which is 59$ so i have 1041$ left.
p.p.s I just saw that sapphire radeon 7950 is almost at same price with 6970 at the site i sent, which is 465$ for now. Normally 550$. Also can you tel me what you are thinking about that GPU? From what i see it is pretty good...
update: I also found a cheap HDD at site too. Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003. It's price is 98$ for now, normally 115$. With their price down i have 376$ left(curse those taxes).

PSU - http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com/urun/seasonic--sea-x-760... - $170
case - http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com/store/ProductDetails.asp... - $143

before i suggest a ram, what rev vers is your mobo? could you open up the case and read up on it?

edit:
case: http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com/store/ProductDetails.asp... - $96
since you won't be Overclocking:
ram: http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com/urun/gskill-ripjawsx--f3... - $59
and if you overclock,
http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com/store/ProductDetails.asp... - $54

personally - I'd get the $54 ram, only cos you get more for a lil less.

now you have $56 to buy your kids some expensive icecream :D

It is rev 1.0 i guess, i checked inside but couldn't see something. I got it's manual next to me but i have no idea where to look haha. It writes 12ME-890-GPA3-2101R at 1st page that means it is 2.1?

Your 1st ram and 2nd case links are same :D
I also found these as rams http://www.eksenbilgisayar.com/urun/kingston-hyperx-xmp...

I can afford 2nd Case + PSU if i want to get Rams aswell...
Also 2nd Case comes with a stock fan i guess which is good :D

If i squeeze a bit i can add another 110$ to my budget to get more fans for Case or other type of upgrades.

I have no kids but i can use all of those ice creams :D

check this post

to identify your mobo, you need to look here:

between the pci slots and its on a sticker.

edit yeah you have the rev. 2.1 version.

i wouldn't get another 2x2GB kit and the the blu's are lower spec'd rams.
enjoy the ice creams! :)
