AMD64 FX-53, yay or nay?

Are there any other cons than the price for the AMD Athlon 64 FX-53?

I don't find the difference in price between the FX-53 and anything down to 3500+ is <i> that </i> big (=not so big that I might not just as well go for the FX-53)...

EDIT: I forgot to add, I'm going for socket 939

Only difference between the FX-53 in Socket939 and the 3500+ is that the FX got Unlock Multipliers. That will allow you to overclock without raising the FSB over 200mhz...

I'm upgrading from a first generation Athalon 2000 so the improvement I see is nothing short of amazing and I don't even have a high end graphics card yet. If I get an X800XT PE or X800 then we'll really see some benchmarks. I went with the FX-53 to fight obsolecence. Buy the biggest, fastet chip you can afford and hope it lasts you 3 years without a major upgrade. I went with the 939 MoBo and still may get screwed when PCI express comes out later this year, but I'm not gonna worry bout that.

Or buy mid range for 1/3 of the price and upgrade every year and youll still have a pretty good system in 3 years...
