Linksys router & AT&T modem HELP ME!

Okay heres the deal I have a Linksy Cisco 160N router. Reset my router and went to hook it back up and set everything and now it says I don't have internet connection. But if I hook the computer directly to the AT&T modem I do have internet. Please help Linksys is wanting to charge me after they are the ones who told me to reset my router to put a security key on my internet. I've been trying to figure this out now for three hours. Please walk me through the steps I'm not very good at this stuff.

Put your AT&T DSL modem in Bridge Mode and then connect your Linksys router.

I'm not to great with computers..how do I do that.

Next question is I had another back up router Hawking 300 I hooked it up thinking I could go through b/c it would be free. I've been on the phone for an hour and the guy tried everything to fix it and it would never connect. He said it had something to do with my computer and to try another one. This is my only computer! I've been trying to figure this out for 4 hours now. HELP!

Why are you using a router if you have only 1 computer? Call AT&T about putting the DSL modem in Bridge Mode.

I am getting ready to go buy a new router can some please reply back..this is starting to drive me nuts!

I dont know what that is...my modem is old.. and I use wifi off my new smartphone.
