IM planning to buy a HD 6670 1 gig GDDR5. Will it play games smoothly for the coming year at med to high with a good fps of 30 to 50 and play games for 2~3 years at low to med well ? Can it play games for 2 or 2 and a half years atleast at low to med reasonably well? I just wanted a card in my 100 dollar budget which will stay with me for 2 to 3 years for same games till I change my system. Is there another card in my budget( I can stretch to 105 ~ 110 dollars) which will work in pci e 1.0 x16 (either a 2.1 or 2.0 card-I have reviewed the hd 7750 but it is 3.0 and may not work + it is not in my budget) well with same performance and doesnt require much power or 6 pin connector? Please dont link me to MIR and newegg since im in India. I dont shop online. I can add abt 10 dollars to 100 for shops but i wont shop online.
My specs are
C2D 2.66 GHZ
2 GB ddr2
450 W PSU(without 6 pin)
Win 7 32 bit.
Mobo GA G31M-S2l Bios f9c with 1 PCI Express x16 running at 1.0 speed
Any help would be appreciated.

The 6670 is a 2.1 speed PCIe socket. Some 2.1 cards will not work in a 1.0. And there are some that do. I guess it has to do with how old is the MOBO and if it's bios has been update all the time.

So if you get the card make sure you can return it if it doesn't work. The 7750 would work for sure but it's speed will decress a little. You could look at a GTX 550 ti which is close to your budget if you find them on sale.

The 550 Ti has a 2.0 and for sure will work with out any problems. I saw one of the card on sale for like $114.00 I don't know the conversion to rs but it probably would be online but check it out in your shops.

I strongly recommened a complete rebuild so start saving. The 6670 and 550 are last generation cards and are only good for a year or two. Good luck on finding a card for your system. Cheers

You can use a 7750 800Mhz, it's top notch for a budget card and doesn't need to use a 6 pin power connector. Also it's PCI-E 3.0, it will be compatible with your 1.0.
