E4300 VS Pentium D 915

Back when the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo's were first released I was looking to see what I could afford and checked out a bunch of benchmarks here on Tom's. I was able compare the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz against the Intel Pentium® Extreme Edition 965 at 3.73GHz (the fastest Intel Pentium D we made). Out of the 20 benchmarks that they had the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 out performed the Intel Pentium Extreme in 16 out of 20 and was just beaten in the other 4.

So without question I would go with the Intel Core 2 Duo E4300.
