OK. I have had the game since it's release date. I haven't played it. I need a better video card. The local computer store ordered them, got the wrong ones, ordered again, got the wrong ones again (this time it was the wrong size). I have a skinny tower. So far both of the "slim" cards they ordered weren't the right one. Can anyone help me out? What should I get when I have this computer: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/PT.SGM02.002

I'm looking online but I"m afraid of buying the wrong one....again. I just want to play the game!

You are going to have to find a low powered card to use. Since I'm assuming your Acer has a 220PSU, you are going to have to get something low end.

You could upgrade the power supply, but if it anything like the Acer Aspire I have, the power supply is not upgrade able unless you are very good at cutting metal. The cuts for the power supply are very specific.

The only option would be to get a low powered GPU, maybe the 6570 or if you want to be safe get the 6450. It would be able to manage Diablo 3 at low settings and resolution.

your best bet is either to buy a really low end low power card, or buy a cheap usable 380-430w quality psu and a gpu. it really depends on your budget

D3 runs fine even at 1920x1200 on a Radeon 5770 with most details to high so if D3 is the only thing you are worried about, get a no-frills video card. Anything 57xx/67xx/77xx will be vastly sufficient.

In AMD's Tuner tab, I see GPU utilization of only ~80% with D3 on my 5770. That game has really modest high-detail GPU requirements unless you enable FSAA.

They don't make 5770 in low profile formats though.

That wasn't intended as a suggestion to buy a 5770, only as a reference to say D3 will run fine on mid-range GPUs from many years ago. For low-profile, it might be necessary to step down to 7670.

Gotcha. Yea I recently built a rig for D3 for a customer with a 5770 and it works perfectly.
