Well im thinkin of gettin round to spendin some of my hard earned cash on my computer again as its been a while. There are two pieces of kit currently on my "To Buy" list as shown by the topic these are:

1)IBM Deskstar 60GXP 61.5GB UDMA100
2)Pioneer DVD-106S 16xDVD 40xCD Int IDE

I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who owns one of these and would like to comment on either or both of these units, Opperating speed, noise, heat, bang for buck (or pound as im from the UK). Any other comments would be greatly appreciated, current system specs follow:

27.4 Quantum Fireball +KX
Creative 32x CD-Rom (to be replaced by DVD-106s)

Both are great producst. The 60GXP is fast, quiet, and reliable. The same goes with the Pioneer (except the quiet part--it can get loud, but it shouldn't bother you when watching a movie.)

The 60gxp's are great (As long as it doesn't follow the route of my 75gxp)

The pioneer Slot DVD's are cool, 16x DAE, a tad on the loud side at top speed.

The price at Scan in the UK for poineer DVD drives rocks too...
