Gpu overheated

Hello;

i have an old 7300gt, i have reapplyed thermal paste to it, fired it up then after 5 minutes it overheated very much, pc rebooted and it won't work again even if it is cold, so is the card dead?, althought i removed heatsink again and checked thermal paste, it is still there where gpu processor is !

It may have fried the chip.
