The other day i was trying to sort out my front fan afer realising it was disabled and i plugged a PCI-E plug into the wrong socket and short circtuited my motherboard, leaving part of my motherboard burnt, which i have replcaced.

Original specs:

8GB Kingston ddr3 RAM
AMD Athlon II 1050T 6 core @ 2.7Ghz
ASUS EAH6850 DC/2DIS/1GD5/V2 Graphics card - 1 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM
700W power supply
1TB HDD
Asus m5a97 PRO motherboard

Specs now, problem persists:

8gb Kingston DDR3 RAM (unchanged)
Amd Bulldozer FX 6100T 6 core @ 3.2Ghz (Changed)
Asus GTX 560 Direct CU II (Changed)
700W power supply (unchanged)
1TB HDD (unchanged)
Asus m5a97 PRO motherboard (changed)

I am at a complete loss! What do i do? I just want to be back on my computer ASAP. This computer was working for 4 months before my stupidity took it's toll :pfff:

ok, there were three pins on my motherboard

1 2 3

the socket was covering 1 and 2, so i moved it onto 2 and 3.

The VGA LED light has turned off, hooray, but, however now the CPU LED light has turned on.

Is this because my motherboard's BIOS settings do not support bulldozer fx 6100?

I feel like i'm making progress, thank you very much for your help thus far

can you enter the bios though?

no, there is still no display on screen..

update: I have switched out the FX 6100 for my old cpu to no avail, still CPU LED on startup.

this problem is so bizzare.

this might sound drastic but if you really want to fix your computer i need to know a few more things. could you possible remove your cpu for me and check if it is burnt?

reset the cmos one more time, check your graphics card, and could you take pics?

when i reset the cmos, i start up with it on 2 and 3 (pins as mentioned earlier) which is AFTER moving them i have NO led lights and a black screen, but when i put it back on to 1 and 2 the VGA LED and Boot Device LED are active.

this is on my GPU. not sure what it means.

This is what my rig currently looks like with the CMOS on slot 1 and 2 (No red lights, woop! however the monitor is still F**ked) -- yes it is somewhat messy =p
