Corsair CMPSU-600CXV2UK Builder Series 600W Power Supply
CiT Vantage Midi Mesh Gaming Case
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU
Acer V223HQVb 21.5 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATAIII
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz
Sapphire HD 7850 2gb
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

i either get this build, or i get an i3 2120 and a gtx 670, in 6 months time i will be able to upgrade either build, if i picked the i3 and 670 then i could just upgrade to a i5 3570k, or if i picked the i5 and 7850 then i could sell the 7850 and get a 7950 or CF 7850, help!

If its just gaming your doing, the i3 2120 can suffice until you get a 3570k. In six months time it may also be worth looking toward Haswell (estimated around March-June 2013), so theres that as well.

whats haswell?:o
July 31, 2012 10:56:09 AM

Haswell is the next-gen architecture for Intel CPU's (Like Sandy Bridge was for Westmere before it) in line with Intels "Tick-Tock" approach.

Tick is when they release a new architecture (Sandy Bridge currently), and Tock is when they shrink the transistor size and include any new technologies that have been invented since (Ivy Bridge). Haswell is the "Tick" of the next generation.

so haswell should be good then but expensive?
July 31, 2012 11:04:09 AM

It will probably be expensive, new technology always is. Just saying that it may be worth looking at if your going to upgrade in 6 months.

(You will also have to change your motherboard to accommodate a Haswell CPU, LGA1150 socket)

what would be a good mobo now to accomodate a new haswell in the future?
July 31, 2012 11:27:23 AM

There are none. Haswell has a whole new socket and currently there aren't any 1150 socket motherboards on the market.

meh id rather get a i7 by the time haswell comes out as i7 will drop in price.
