Will 700 watt be good enough for intel 3930k?

Hi. I've recently bought new parts for my music production use.

Intel 3930k
4gb x 2 ram
1tb x 3 Hard drives
8800GT graphics card (already had)
ASUA IV formula mobo
OCZ PSU700WATT (already had)

Might sound like overkill for most people.

Anyways, if i overclock the cpu, would i need more wattage?

I'm keeping my old PSU.

My PSU is sli certified and all that but i'm still worried if i might need a better one.

its fine but i dont know why you bought 4x2gb memory kits. you should have went with 4x4gb to get a bit more performance

You won't have any issue unless that PSU is like a few years old already then it is not a great idea to risk it but honestly i think you should have no problem.

Though if you ever decide to replace the Video card or add more drives you will need to get a better power supply.

Yeah. I was orginally getting an one stick of 8gb, and thinking about adding more in the future but,

apparently amazon titled the ram wrong... so i got 4gb x 2. Heck I would have just went 8gb x 2 if i knew this was gonna happen. Anyways, thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.

one stick of 8gb is even worse. on x79, you get memory in sets of 4 sticks or 8 sticks

a 670 draws 180w at full blast with a overclock

yeah something like what bigcyco1 recommends is a good choice.

another option is the xfx xxx 750w. its the same thing as the pc and power cooling mk2 750w only that the xfx unit is modular and looks a tad better
