Driver can not find alc888-vd

Sound is dead on HP 6653w. Driver update can not find hardware.

USB sound cards (devices) are not recognized either.

The sound hardware is on motherboard. HP specs say it is ALC888S.

I disabled onboard sound, but it caused no change in recognizing of UBS sound hardware.

What to do now?

That error typically appears when you are trying to install the wrong driver for that particular device.
Did you get the driver from the HP website as you are supposed to, and did you ensure to select your exact PC model number?
