Bad psu

Can a potentially damaged dvd/bluray drive that might have been damaged by the psu be put in a new computer? Can this do harm to other components? I would like to see if the drive is still functional. Same goes for a hard drive that I believe might have been damaged by the psu.

If the psu has faulty it affect 1st ram 2nd drives.except loose connection in hdd power cable. if the earth connection is not proper it can affect computer.
