Phenom Ii X4 955 model no confusion.

Hello sir,
I wish to upgrade CPU of motherboard Asus M3A78-EM to AMD phenom II X4 955 series,it is a bit confusing as far as model no is concerned,I came across this model no HDZ955FBGMBOX but can't find it in compatible Asus CPU supported list.
Please help me in choosing this or anthor model of same specifications.

You are fine. I would check the BIOS version. If it's 2401 or later you shouldn't need an update. It will probably work with 1602 and later versions though.

thats the correct processor information, also flashing the bios to the newest version would be recommanded :) , cheers

only if you feel comfortable doing so, i wouldnt do it if ur not as if u fail loading the proper bios or ur pc shutdowns while updating it, u can have a worthless motherboard on ur hands.

so only update the bios with caution and if ur comfortable doing so.

Update: successfully flashed Bois to latest 2701 with out any problem that too within windows using Asus flash utility.ready to go when CPU comes from newegg.

I have no received it yet from newegg but tracking shows it is on its way,any moment it will arrive.

Update : CPU arrived and installed, no issues till now, windows 8 pro WMC stayed activated, achieved a Score of 7.8 in rating, GPU has not arrived yet, will update.

Yes, no problem, running silently, it arrived with a high quality CPU fan.
